Stuck With U: A sweet collab from Ariana & Justin

Stuck is a word that describes most of us these days. We are against our wills, stuck at home. Thanks to the COVID-19 virus, we are all in a rut. And although we remain eternally hopeful, we will be out of this rut soon, we have no idea when that will happen. So we remain stuck.

Fortunate are those who are stuck with the people they like, more so with the person they love best. Can you just imagine what it is like being stuck 24/7 with somebody you dislike or simply does not get along with?  That is the ultimate punishment.

Lucky is Justin Bieber, who is stuck at home with his supermodel bride, the lovely Hailey Baldwin. So is Ariana Grande, who is stuck at home with her new boyfriend, the hot-looking real estate tycoon Dalton Gomez. But what about the other people who are similarly stuck?

These two happy souls thought about those stuck together and because creating music is what they do, Ariana and Justin came up with a song. It is their first collaboration since the big-selling What Do You Mean in 2015. It is titled Stuck With U and it is the sweetest collab ever.

They sing about, “It’s just you and me with time on our hands.” Then they ask, “Are you one of those who will miss this quarantine time when it’s over?” I am sure that someday, when life has returned to what we knew only a few months ago as normal, those who were stuck with their loved ones will look back to this time of the corona as a beautiful memory.

So will the many who joined Ariana and Justin in the music video for Stuck With U. The two pop stars thought of those kids who are graduating from high school this year but will not be able to experience that most important rite of passage, the senior prom. To help them overcome their disappointment, they sent out a call for them to send in clips of themselves in their prom finery that will be included in the video.

And so these everyday people are all there along with Hailey, Dalton, their doggies and celebrities like Stephen Curry and his wife, Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher, Michael Buble, sisters Kendall and Kylie Jenner, Jaden Smith, Gwyneth Paltrow, Demi Lovato and Kate Hudson. The result is so heartwarming and certainly makes being stuck together also a fun situation.

That is not all that Ariana and Justin had in mind when they released Stuck With U. Making hits might be routine for these two but they also had those suffering from the impact of this virus in mind. That is why their latest is a charity single.

In partnership with the First Responders Children’s Foundation, all net proceeds from sales and streams of the song will fund grants and scholarships for children of first responders, who have been impacted by COVID-19. That means kids of healthcare workers, emergency medical technicians, paramedics, police officers and firefighters serving at the frontlines during this pandemic.

There is more. Those are not all the good things there are about Stuck With U. Since Mother’s Day was fast approaching and making music videos is no major production that takes days to do anymore, Ariana and Justin decided to do something for mothers and children who are similarly stuck. And again, they asked their fans and friends to send in clips of them with their mothers.

And we now have this amazing tribute about mothers and love.  There is Justin with his mom Pattie Maillette and there is Ariana with her mother Joan Grande. Then there are mothers of all types from everywhere, loving, having fun, all grooving to the cool beat of Stuck With U.

It is a fact that we are now awash with charity singles and musical tributes. But the fact that Stuck With U came from Ariana and Justin, young people, who have had their share of notoriety, makes the song truly special. These guys do have their hearts in the right place.
