Seth and Kyle share names of endearment for onscreen partners

“Ali.” “Bala.”

Neither of the two words connote sweetness nor suggest fondness to you and me. But for Kapamilya Gold Squad boys Seth Fedelin and Kyle Echarri, those are examples of play on words; they are in reference to their onscreen partners Andrea Brillantes and Francine Diaz, respectively.

Of course, their fans are well-aware that “Ali” and “Bala” have special meanings only meant for the two young Kapamilya actresses. Seth has been telling that Andrea is close to his heart. Kyle maintains that he and Francine are best friends. The four worked together in the hit ABS-CBN afternoon TV series Kadenang Ginto and eventually became barkada on- and off-camera. Their vlogs on YouTube channel can prove how they get along with each other real fine and how fun they are during shoots.

“Ali,” according to Seth, means Akin Lang Ikaw and he stressed that they never intentionally came up with it. “Random lang po na nakita namin ‘yun habang nagbabasa kami na yung ‘Ali’ is Akin Lang Ikaw.”

However, Seth had already said in his past interviews that Andrea is special to him. Asked what is the real score between them, Seth said he’s not courting her yet “but like what I always say that I want to find someone who has all the qualities of my mom at nakita ko kay Andrea ‘yun. So, napapaisip ako ngayon.”

Fans call their loveteam as SethDrea. Their undeniable chemistry first gained notice when Seth became a regular in Kadenang Ginto right after his stint in the last edition of Pinoy Big Brother (PBB). His character Mikoy was perfect match to Andrea’s gray character Marga.

Last Valentine’s Day, Seth made an effort to prepare Andrea’s favorites. “We were in Padre Pio and with the help of my friends, I was able to prepare tahong, isaw, inasal and barbecue. I told myself, this girl is real; her character has never changed. Kung paano ko s’ya nakilala noon, ganoon pa rin s’ya ngayon.”

For the first time, Kyle revealed how he was able to coin the term “Bala” because it was only him, Andrea and Francine who knew the story behind it.

“We were exchanging text messages and then Francine said she wanted us to have a nickname na kami lang ang nakakaalam and then she said, ‘Bahala ka diyan.’ So, I said, ‘Bala,’ and she asked why at napaisip ako na magagalit ito ‘pag sinabi ko na ang pinanggalingan ay bahala ka diyan (laughs).”

Eventually, Kyle came up with a better explanation that “bala” is ammo. He said, “Wherever you go, you always keep your bala with you. You always keep your ammo with you, you always keep it close to you.”

Kyle affirmed there’s nothing romantic going on between them but admitted to having had said his greetings to Francine via text and call last Valentine’s Day. The tandem is also known as KyCine.

Kyle also brushed off the idea that he went steady with Andrea and he is now jealous with the SethDrea loveteam. “I guess people have been seeing that we are close. Well, I’ve known Andrea for four years and she’s one of my best friends in the industry. She is also one of the people I trust.”

“When I learned that they are a loveteam, I was happy for her because I saw that she’s happy with him, so why would I be jealous? I mean, I respect them. I respect what the management has for them and what has for me. I’m happy with what I have now.”

Armed with impressive acting skills, Seth and Kyle are indubitably on their way to be the next Kapamilya leading men to watch out for. Seth recently displayed his acting talent in one of the episodes of Maalaala Mo Kaya (MMK).

Apart from acting, Kyle is busy writing songs these days and meeting with different producers in preparation for the release of his album.

With good looks and talent, both Kyle and Seth are more than ready to reach stardom.
