Planetary alignment, God and his creations

PERSPECTIVE - Cherry Piquero Ballescas - The Freeman

Were you among the fortunate viewers of God’s rare spectacle before dawn of June 24, 2022?

Then you would have been among those amazed to see with your own eyes five planets that aligned up in the sky!

And there was the added bonus of the crescent moon brightly shining, serving as guide to locate and identify the aligned planets!

Below the crescent moon (that also represented the earth’s relative position in the planetary order) were Mercury and Venus!

Above the crescent moon were Mars, Jupiter, and Saturn!

“Wow” is not enough and cannot capture the dramatic, astonishing, breathtaking magnificence of that rare crescent moon plus five planet-alignment so clearly visible up in that pre-dawn June 24, 2022 sky!

Blessed are those who started following this awe-inspiring event from the beginning of June!

Can you also imagine how those who had binoculars and a clearer view of the planets and the crescent moon before sunrise of June 24 must have felt?

According to reports, “by the next day, the moon will have continued its orbit around the Earth, moving it out of alignment with the planets.”

Those who missed seeing this amazing five-planet alignment in sequential order will have to wait for this to happen again in 2040!

For sure, though, there will be more heavenly spectacles that will come between now and 2040!

So continue looking up for those rare matchless displays up in the evening or early morning sky!

And experience, just as we did, not only the joy of seeing that heavenly spectacle right before your eyes.

Be transported back to Genesis:

“In the beginning when God created the heavens and the earth, God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And there was evening and there was morning, the first day.

“On the second day, God made the dome and separated the waters that were under the dome from the waters that were above the dome. God called the dome Sky. And there was evening and there was morning, the second day.

“On the fourth day, God said, "Let there be lights in the dome of the sky to separate the day from the night; and let them be for signs and for seasons and for days and years, and let them be lights in the dome of the sky to give light upon the earth.

“God made the two great lights - the greater light to rule the day and the lesser light to rule the night - and the stars. God set them in the dome of the sky to give light upon the earth, to rule over the day and over the night, and to separate the light from the darkness.

“God saw everything that he had made, and indeed, it was very good. And there was evening and there was morning, the sixth day.

“Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all their multitude. And on the seventh day God finished the work that he had done, and he rested on the seventh day from all the work that he had done.”

And be comforted with the peaceful assurance that truly, up in the skies and awaiting us up in Heaven, is God, our Creator!

“The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands.” (Psalm 19:1)

And join Jeremiah (32:17) who prayed: “Ah, Sovereign Lord, you have made the heavens and the earth by your great power and outstretched arm. Nothing is too hard for you.”

“O Lord, our Lord, how majestic is Your name in all the earth! You have set Your glory above the heavens!”(Psalm 8:1)
