Talisay to hold free sports summer workshop this July

CEBU, Philippines —  The city government of Talisay will be conducting a free summer sports workshop from July 11 to 29.

Mayor Gerald Anthony “Samsam” Gullas, Jr. announced this good news for the Talisaynons through his Facebook page last Wednesday.

“This event will help strengthen our youth to show and discover their talents and true potentials especially when it comes to sports,” wrote Gullas.

The sporting disciplines featured in the 19-day activity are basketball, karatedo, boxing, football, lawn tennis, table tennis, volleyball, swimming, and badminton. There will be also special lessons for performing arts such as modern dance, voice, and guitar.

It is open to children aged seven to 12 but participants are limited only to 30 per event on a first-come, first-served basis.

“I encourage our Talisaynon parents to enroll their children to this activity because this is also a great chance for them to learn and discover new things about themselves,” Gullas added.

Registration starts on July 4.
