SK Poblacion Oriental ‘Fun Ride’ this Sunday

CEBU, Philippines —  The Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) of Barangay Poblacion Oriental in Consolacion town will be staging a ‘Fun Ride’ starting at 9 a.m. this Sunday, October 17.

The event organized by the Youth United Bikers’ Association of Poblacion Oriental, however, is exclusive only to cyclists who are residents of the barangay, as announced by SK chairman Carlos Donn Flores in his Facebook page.

“We want the residents of our barangay to further engage themselves in exercise through sports despite the challenges brought by this pandemic,”said Flores, who is also the SK Federation president of Consolacion under the dynamic leadership of mayor Joannes “Joyjoy” P. Alegado.

Although just a fun ride, cash prizes will be given away to the top finishers to stir up the competitive spirit of the participating pedal-pushers.

The first placer will pocket P3,000 while the second and third will receive P2,000 and P1,000, respectively.

Flores assured that all health and safety protocols will be strictly followed in the conduct of their upcoming activity, which is among the highlights of Consolacion’s annual fiesta celebration in honor of their beloved patron San Narciso on October 29. — EBV
