Enriquez, Belano shine again in CEPCA weekly
CEBU, Philippines — Four-time Cebu Executives and Professionals Chess Association grand champion Rogelio Enriquez and child prodigy Kristina Belano once again stole the show in CEPCA’s Prexy Jerry and Chito Arki Series #2 online tournament over the weekend via lichess platform. Enriquez, who currently plays for the Toledo City Trojans in the Professional Chess Association of the Philippines (PCAP), completed the 9-round Swiss system competition with the highest 7.5 points to clinch the All-Cepcans title.
Jimmy Ty Jr. and Reynaldo Flores finished second and third, respectively, with 6.5 points each while National Arbiter Linky Yap and Amado Olea occupied the next two spots with 6.0 points apiece.
Rosendo Yamyamin made it to the top six with 5.5 points.
The 12-year-old Belano, on the other hand, lorded it over the Cepcans B/Ladies division with an aggregate score of 41 points.
Maria Kristine Lavandero posted 35 points to settle for second place. Joseleo Cortes ( 23 pts.), Richard Ouano (22 pts.) and Filemon Kapuno III (15 pts.) rounded up the top five.
