BBM, Sara invited to 1Cebu oathtaking

CEBU, Philippines —  The Garcia-led One Cebu Party is planning to hold a mass oathtaking of all of its members who won during the May 9 elections, with Bongbong Marcos and Sara Duterte-Carpio invited to the event.

Majority of the reelectionists and challengers during the May 9 polls in Cebu Province are members and allies of One Cebu.

“Given that One Cebu has overwhelmingly won in the entire province of Cebu… Since this is really history in the making, we are planning on a mass oath taking with all of our winning congressmen, mayors, vice mayors, councilors, board members" Governor Gwendolyn Garcia said.

Garcia, who chairs the party, has not yet announced the schedule of the party's mass oathtaking of its members.

But she said the party will also be inviting presumptive President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.

Garcia also said presumptive vice president Sara Duterte – Carpio has already asked her on the schedule of the oathtaking as she plans to attend the event.

Both Marcos and Duterte-Carpio were endorsed by One Cebu in the last elections.

Marcos garnered 1,055,985 votes in Cebu while his running-mate Duterte-Carpio ruled the vice presidential race with 1,258,538 votes. – JMD (FREEMAN)
