Man arrested for posting nude photos of ex-lover

CEBU, Philippines — The Criminal Investigation and Detection Group has reminded the public, specifically females, to prevent sending nude photos to their partners.

This after a man was arrested by the CIDG-7 through an entrapment operation for violating the Anti-Photo and Video Voyeurism Act of 2009 for posting the nude photos of his former live-in partner.

The CIDG-7 identified the suspect as Rolando Sumalinog who was arrested inside a mall in Lapu-Lapu City on May 12, 2020.

Police Colonel Ireneo Dalogdog, CIDG-7 chief, said that Sumalinog's former live-in partner claimed that the suspect posted her nude photos and videos after she refused to meet him.

"Na kung saan tinatakot nya itong victim, na kung hindi sya makipagkita sa kanya, or hindi makipag-sex ay yung ibang nga photos and videos ay ilalantad pa nya, ipo-post nya sa nga kakilala nya na family members or kakilala nya," said Dalogdog.

The complainant also told the police that she also experienced several abuses and maltreatment from the suspect back when they were still together, leading her to decide to break up with him after 12 years of being together.

"Simula noon, ay umalis na sya, hindi na sya nagpapakita doon sa kanyang live-in partner," Dalogdog said.

He added that the complainant has later on found out that her nude photos and videos have been posted online by the suspect, without her consent.

"Tinatakot sya, bina-blackmail sya," said Dalogdog.

When the complainant sought the help of CIDG, the operatives then conducted the operation resulting in the arrest of the suspect who was charged of violating the Anti-Photo and Video Voyeurism Act of 2009 in relation to Republic Act 91115.

In line with this, Dalogdog has reminded the public to prevent this similar situation.

"Hindi na kayo nagkakainitindihan, ay posible, kahit sino man sa inyo, mapa lalaki man o babae, posible na medyo maagrabyado ka ay gagamitan ka ng ganitong estratehiya," said Dalogdog. — GMR (FREEMAN)
