CCPO launches daytime ‘Oplan Bulabog’

CEBU, Philippines —  The Cebu City Police Office (CCPO) has launched its “grand Oplan Bulabog” which include daytime operation after observing that minors were seen roaming around without essential reasons to go out.

The operation, which started Monday, focuses on patrolling the interior portions of the barangays in the city, said CCPO information officer, Police Lt. Colonel Maria Theresa Macatangay.

The regular Oplan Bulabog mostly conducted during night time is an operation of the CCPO to strictly monitor the minimum health standard protocols at night time and the enforcement of the curfew ordinance.

"The city director took note of the data particularly on nagkadaghan gihapon ang minors nga nagpabadlong, the conduct og bulabog dili na buhaton sa gabii lang kun di apil na adlawan," said Macatangay.

Last Friday, the CCPO apprehended 214 protocol violators during their Oplan Bulabog. At least 17 of these were minors. On Saturday night, 363 more violators including 29 minors were also apprehended.

On Sunday night, at least 228 violators were apprehended of which 48 are minors.

The launching of grand Oplan Bulabog will focus on areas where most COVID-19 positive cases in the city were recorded.

"Nagkagamay man nuon ang nakita nga nagpabadlong kada gabii," said Macatangay.

She added that most minors were found going outside without essential reasons while some were not even following the health guidelines, particularly the wearing of face masks.

In line with this, the CCPO officials appeal to the Sangguniang Kabataan officers of the barangays to lead the minors in their respective areas in minimizing their movements outside.

"Unta suportahan pud kini sa mga SK nato sa kada barangay, sila gyuy mohatag og ehemplo sa atong mga minors, sa mga parehas nila nga kabatan-onan," said Macatangay.

The parents of those minors who will be repeatedly apprehended will be called out and will be issued citation tickets.

"Kay kaning mga minors, tungod sa ka-active nila, they might be the couriers sa ilang mga panimalay so ato ng likayan," added Macatangay. — GMR (FREEMAN)
