Dialysis patients prioritized: Vaccination drive goes  by sector

Caecent No-ot Magsumbol - The Freeman

CEBU, Philippines — The region’s vaccination campaign is going down by sector soon with the patients on dialysis on top of the priority.

“Vaccination will be brought to the dialysis centers in hospitals or free-standing,” said Dr. Mary Jean Loreche, spokesperson of the Visayas Vaccination Operations Center, in yesterday’s briefer.

Loreche said the VVOC had a meeting with the representatives from the hemodialysis units and centers–hospital-based and free-standing regarding vaccination efforts.

“Magkakaroon po tayo ng improvement in the processes para  dalhin po ang ating pagbabakuna either duon sa ilang mga dialysis site sa loob ng mga hospital o dialysis centers,” said Loreche. This, she added, will be handled by the LGUs.

Loreche said they are currently mapping out protocols and guidelines concerning these vaccination efforts to ensure everyone’s safety.

“Inaayos natin ang ating mga processes at protocols pra we can safety say na mababakunahan natin sila lahat…lalo pa yung mga wala pang bakuna…at yung for booster shots,” she said.

Aside from the dialysis center, Loreche also disclosed that they are bringing vaccination also to the transportation sector and other sectors soon.

VVOC, together with OPAV, also had a separate meeting with the transport sector for the possibility of bringing the vaccination to bus terminals.

“Para pati yung mga drivers, conductors, kapamilya nila, at mga pasahero na wala pang bakuna ay mabakunahan na sila,” said Loreche.

Loreche said that by going sector by sector, everyone will soon be given the extra layer of protection already.

“Sector by sector na tayo para ma achieve natin ang lahat ng ating mabakunahan,” she said. — KQD (FREEMAN)
