Couple nabbed for P1.7 million shabu

CEBU, Philippines — Anti-narcotics officers arrested a couple for alleged possession of around P1.7 million worth of shabu during a sting in Barangay Mactan, Lapu-Lapu City Friday night.

Common-law partners Loren “Apple” Calimbo, 33, and Alvin Tura, 32, were apprehended by members of the City Drug Enforcement Unit in Sitio Puso at 9:30 p.m.

They are residents of Sitio Bato, Barangay Ermita in Cebu City and are considered as high-value individuals based on the drug watchlist.

Drugs weighing 245 grams were seized from the couple worth P1,666,000.

The couple will face charges for violating Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. — KQD (FREEMAN)
