Quoting U.S statesman Dwight D. Eisenhower, “Leadership is the art of getting someone else to do something you want done because he wants to do it.”

CEBU, Philippines —  Cebu City Michael Rama has appointed another set of lawyers under his team to help out the city government.

Quoting U.S statesman Dwight D. Eisenhower, “Leadership is the art of getting someone else to do something you want done because he wants to do it.”

“This quote of the 34th US President and Supreme Commander of the Allied Forces during World War II echoes my tact to manage City Hall in the next seven months. First things first, we first put things in order,” said Rama in a press conference Monday at the City Hall.

Rama announced that lawyers Eugene Caballero Orbita join the management team as City Legal Officer and Homer Cabaral as resident Ombudsman.

Rama said that having a resident Ombudsman at the City Hall is not something new, but just reinstituted.

“When you have a resident Ombudsman, definitely it’s a message that this administration of Rama-Hontiveros (vice mayor), that it is operational, functional and will definitely matter seriously any infraction violation and that will have to be deal with much seriousness...ato lang ning gi reinstitute,” said Rama.

Rama said he is glad that they want and, more so, are willing to do the jobs we need them to do. Documents for their appointments are now being processed, said Rama.

Atty. Orbita has Master's in Public Administration, a registered criminologist, 4th placer in the board exams, dean of the UV College of Criminology from 1996 to 2004, and practicing forensic document examiner and signature verifier.

Atty. Cabaral, on the other hand, served as barangay captain of Duljo Fatima from 1983 to 1987 and served the National Police Commission from 1990 to 2019, a regional director for 10 years until his retirement with a CESO IV eligibility and has Masters in National Security Administration from the National Defense College of the Philippines.

Aside from that, Rama also announced that his former chief-of-staff when he previously served as mayor, Atty. Dominic Diño, returns, this time as Secretary to the Mayor in tandem with Rama’s chief-of-staff, Atty. Mat Eric M. Medalle. — GMR (FREEMAN)
