5 wanted persons arrested in 1 day
CEBU, Philippines — The Regional Mobile Force Battalion (RMFB)-7 has served at least five warrants of arrest for different offenses last Saturday including those in the most wanted list.
At around 10:30 a.m. of the said day, the RMFB-7 served the standing warrant of arrest against Ananias Cueva Tumabini, 45, of Purok Uno, Barangay Mahawak, Medellin, Cebu. He was considered the second most wanted person in the town.
Tumabini has a standing warrant of arrest for violation of Section 88 Paragraph 2 and 3 of Republic Act 8550 also known as the Philippine Fisheries Code of 1998.
This was issued by Judge Antonio D. Marigomen of Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 61 in Bogo City on November 16, 2015.
On the same day, another accused of violation of RA 9165 also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 was arrested in Danao City.
The accused was identified as Jose Varomedy Pantoja, 27, resident of Sitio Tuburan, Barangay Tabok, Danao City.
Police said Pantoja was arrested after a concerned citizen reported to the police his presence in the area.
Another accused, Nelson Papaya Salde, 20, was arrested in Barangay Poblacion, Danao City. Salde was among the top 10 most wanted persons in the province with standing warrant of arrest for rape.
His warrant of arrest was issued by Judge Flor Amor A. Opon, assisting judge of the RTC Branch 25 in Danao City, on October 6, 2021.
Another wanted person for violation of less serious physical injuries was arrested still on the same day in Barangay Anonang Sur, Bogo City.
The accused was identified as Alberto Alivio, a farmer, whose name was determined as the most wanted person in the city.
The warrant of arrest was issued and signed by Judge Dante P. Manreal, presiding judge of the Municipal Trial Court in Cities (MTCC) in Bogo City.
Further, the RMFB-7 arrested the second most wanted person at the municipal level in Barangay Magkaya, Buenavista, Bohol.
The accused, Jimpaul Satina, 23, has a warrant of arrest for frustrated murder.
His warrant of arrest was issued by Presiding Judge Lindecita Cabaron Arcamo of RTC Branch 1. — GMR (FREEMAN)
