Family hopes to find man missing for 2 years now
The missing person is identified as Bryan Keith Montesa, 34, also known as “B.K.,” a resident of Block 27, Lot 1 Area A Queens Garden St. Queensrow Subdivision, Molino 3, Bacoor City, Cavite.

CEBU, Philippines —  A family is still searching for a missing medical coder from Bacoor City, Cavite who was last seen in Cebu City back in 2019.

The missing person is identified as Bryan Keith Montesa, 34, also known as “B.K.,” a resident of Block 27, Lot 1 Area A Queens Garden St. Queensrow Subdivision, Molino 3, Bacoor City, Cavite.

Montesa was employed as medical coder of Global Health Care Resource Philippines Inc. in Alabang, Muntinlupa City.

His father, Renato Montesa, 68, reported Bryan Keith’s absence to their barangay only on October 6, 2021. He also asked their relatives in Cebu to help locate his son.

Renato told The FREEMAN that he wished to come to Cebu to seek the help of the authorities but his age and the travel restrictions prevented him from doing so.

He narrated that sometime in September 2019, Bryan Keith asked permission from them to go to Cebu for a seminar. They were thinking it was in line with his work.

They were shocked to learn after three days that his employer was looking for him and subsequently issued a termination letter against him.

On September 24, 2019 at around 12:44 p.m., Bryan Keith was reportedly seen by his cousin, Yvette Crispino Yelland, at a mall in Cebu City. His Makati-based cousin was reportedly having an official business in Cebu during that time.

Days after, Renato said Byran Keith posted on Facebook that he got a new employer in Cebu which was Shearwater Health.

Renato said he searched and inquired about the new company but he was told that they had no employee in the name of Bryan Keith in their database.

Last December 30, 2019, Bryan Keith reportedly posted on Facebook that he was at the Cebu IT Park with friends and he even greeted his family a happy new year.

On May 7, 2020, Renato said he sent an email informing Bryan Keith that he will come to Cebu to visit him.

But Bryan Keith, in response dated May 23, 2020, told his father not to come to Cebu yet as the city was placed under enhanced community quarantine until June 2020.

“Please wag muna kayo mag travel dto Cebu. Currently we are ECQ pa din until June 2020. I’m staying here in Mivesa Garden residences, Lahug, Cebu City. Delikado po dito madami at padami ang case ng covid-19 everyday, mag undergo ng quarantine 14 days people from Manila in Mactan airport. Uwi po ako jan Cavite maybe September or December. Sorry po for everything. I will fix everything while im here in Cebu. Take care and God Bless,” read the email of Bryan Keith.

Renato said that he called up Mivesa but he was again told that they had no occupant in the name of Bryan Keith. He was asked to send a photo, only to be informed later that the security officer had not found the person.

After that, Renato said all of Bryan Keith’s social media accounts, including mobile phones, were deactivated.

Renato added that they are still hopeful that they can find Byran Keith with the help of the public in Cebu. —JMD (FREEMAN)
