Man bringing payroll money shot dead in Lapu-Lapu
Lapu-Lapu City Police Office Station 5 chief Major Airbert Samsaon identified the victim as Deen Vincent Jumawan, 48, a resident of the same place.

CEBU, Philippines —  Police in Lapu-Lapu City are investigating the case of a rent-a-car coordinator who was shot dead in Barangay Pusok last Friday evening.

Lapu-Lapu City Police Office Station 5 chief Major Airbert Samsaon identified the victim as Deen Vincent Jumawan, 48, a resident of the same place.

According to the initial investigation, Jumawan was going to their office when the shooting transpired.

It was learned that the victim was bringing with him a huge amount of cash which would be used to pay for the salaries of the personnel and rent of the office where he was working.

Two unidentified men who were wearing bonnets arrived in the area and shot the Jumawan, which led to his death.

Police are looking at robbery as a motive for the crime.

The money was no longer to be found when investigators arrived at the crime scene. It was believed to have been carted away by the assailants, according to Samson. — JMD (FREEMAN)
