More illegal drugs seized in one day operation

CEBU, Philippines —  A larger volume of illegal drugs had been confiscated by the Cebu City police from 45 arrested individuals in another Simultaneous Anti-Criminality Law Enforcement Operation (SACLEO).

The one-day operation arrested a total of 145 persons, including those who were accused of other crimes.

In the anti-illegal drug operations, at least 45 individuals were arrested, 14 of whom were considered high-value individuals.

Seized from the suspects were 518 grams of suspected shabu with estimated value of P3.5 million.

According to Cebu City Police Office deputy director for operations, Police Lt. Colonel Wilbert Parilla, the volume of illegal drugs they confiscated is higher than their previous SACLEO.

"Sa previous naa lang tay 300 grams nga nakuha karon naa ta sa mga 500 to more than half ang nasakmit," said Parilla.

He added that based on their analysis, during the arrests and operations in the National Capital Region (NCR), investigation would often said that the suspects’ supposed-distribution includes the area of Cebu City.

Parilla said that this added a factor to the large volume of illegal drugs seized as police also intensify their monitoring towards the entry points.

"Especially in the Cebu area, since this is a transcentral area, ari diri tanan magsugod, naa gyuy intended nga para diri, so mao ni sya ang atong tan-aw nga part pud ni sya atong mga nakuha nato nga dagko in the previous month," said Parilla.

In the operations against illegal gambling, the CCPO was able to arrest at least 65 individuals.

"Ang daghan ani is atoang illegal numbers game ug kaning illegal cockfighting mostly sa atong nadakpan," said Parilla.

For the campaign against loose firearms, authorities were able to arrest 11 persons while 25 accused were served with standing warrant of arrest.
