Too much too soon for Isko Moreno?

STAR CIRCUIT - Ricky L. Calderon - The Freeman

While Mayor Isko Moreno gave hints that he might run for president, we didn’t reckon that he will throw his hat this early in the ring. He would have been a potential winner as president in 2028 as many political analysts and showbiz observers say.

We admire how Mayor Isko is doing his job as Manila mayor since he is able to implement his pet projects well like his beautification and cleanliness campaign. The way he has handled the pandemic problem is also much, much better compared to the national government’s response.

The moment he announced his presidency, Mayor Isko received a lot of vile remarks in social media. They say he was easily blinded by power, too young and that the people who egged him on are just using him. He is a Duterte lackey and is not a true opposition, among others.

While he has done well so far as Manila mayor, there is still so much that needs to be achieved in the capital city. Running for president is like abandoning his mandate. He could have done so much more and still lacks experience, his critics say.

Finishing his full-term as Manila mayor will give him enough experience in running the country. There are people who believe in his potential as a leader and they are one in saying that seeking the presidency now is “too much too soon.”

We wish Mayor Isko well in his quest for the presidency. We’ve known him since he started his showbiz career and we love him dearly. We believe in the goodness of his heart and his willingness to serve to the best of his ability.

The presidency, we believe, is a destiny. We pray that Mayor Isko made the right decision. We want to see him win.

Three gentlemen named Jethro, Arnold and Mario figure in a different kind of love, complete with its many trappings, tribulations and promise of happily ever after which are all in “Limited Edition.” It begins airing October 2, 8pm, on BRAGAIS TV.

The romantic drama is about finding one’s elusive and everlasting love with a love triangle arc.

“What makes him lovable is his innocence and simplicity,” says Jomari Angeles about Mario. “Not all of us are born with the right knowledge about life and love right away. He is a hopeless romantic and pag nakuha na ang loob niya or pagna-in love na siya bibigay niya ang lahat.”

Andrew Gan, on being Jethro, enthuses:  “The most challenging part about being him is how to feel like him, to live in his shoes, and give justice to that feeling of falling in love with another young man. I want to be truthful lalo na pag naramdaman na niya na he is in love with Mario.”

“His only fault is that he fell in love with Mario as well,” declares Ron Angeles, who plays Arnold. “I should say my being a pambansang third wheel is solidified and becomes a notch higher in this BL drama. Ilalaban ko talaga yung feelings ko for Mario and my character has pure intentions.”

Also in the cast are Donna Cariaga, Michelle Jhoie Ferraris, Iyah Mina, Yayo Aguila, Miss Ruby Ruiz, Anton Arceo, Aaron Concepcion, Celine Dorado and Luke Hembling.

The story is by Bernard Umali, screen play by John Fontanos with Jill Singson Urdaneta as director, and produced by world-famous shoe designer Jojo Bragais, with Michelle Jhoie Ferraris as co-producer.
