JKV Enterprises bags championship  crown in HNDL Season 2

CEBU, Philippines — The JKV Enterprises fended off TUF IT Park, 80-78, in their nerve-wracking final match to clinch the championship of Hoop Nation Developmental League (HNDL) Season 2 powered by Sunsport over the weekend at the City Sports Club-Cebu gym.

Justin Ebale unloaded 20 points, three rebounds, four assists, three steals and one block in an all-around hardcourt brilliance for JKV that earned him the Finals MVP award.

Choi Belano also made his presence felt with 16 points for JKV, which made league history after winning the title with a perfect 14-0 record.

JKV of team owner James Villar dictated the pace of the match since rolling to a 25-19 start. They maintained a 59-52 lead after three quarters before repulsing a spirited endgame resistance by TUF to escape with a two-point thriller.

Ivan Mark Deo exploded for 27 points on top of four assists and three steals but his efforts went down the drain for TUF. — (FREEMAN)
