ABC-Tacloban president re-elected

TACLOBAN CITY, Philippines — The incumbent president of the Association of Barangay Councils (ABC) or Liga ng mga Barangay of Tacloban City, Eden Chua-Pineda, got a fresh mandate after the election held last July 30.

Pineda got all of the 136 votes at stake against rival, Rodolfo Padillo of Barangay 109 V & G, who did not attend the election.

Other elected Liga officials are Irvin Tanala as vice president; Elmer Lee (auditor); and Chona Amaba, Alexander Bentulan, Erwin Bidua, Silvestre Comendador, Jose Duenas, Arlene Hidalgo, Rustico Medina, Letecia Olino, Noel Tupaz, and Benedicto Yerro (board members).

The Liga board of election supervisors was headed by Ormoc City Interior and Local Government officer Jesus Jeremy Bagares.

Meanwhile, in Eastern Samar, the Liga ng mga Barangay elected Loize Pormida Evardone of Arteche town, as the new president, Maximo Zacate of Sulat as vice president, and Nona Promejo of Llorente as auditor.

The elected members of the board of directors are: Renerio Ador of Boronga City; Jesus Bandang of Gen. MacArthur; David Campomanes of Maslog; Cleotilde Carpeso of Dolores; Roger Eder of Lawaan; Romualdo Estor of Salcedo; Jose Glino of Balangkayan; and Felipe Nialda of San Policarpio.
