CEBU, Philippines - The Integrated Bar of the Philippines-Negros Oriental chapter had elected its new set of officers during an election conducted at the Hall of Justice in Dumaguete City on Saturday.

The new officers, who will assume office starting April this year are: Nilo Ruperto as president, replacing Cyrus Riconalla; Prestin Raymond (vice president); Karen Moleta (secretary); Deo Eltanal Jr. (treasurer); Reynaldo Piñero (auditor); and Art Dupio (public relations officer).

Those elected to the board of directors are: Nerio Bulado, Elton Abrea, Jason Bandal, Rafael Orillana, and Felix Araula.

Ruperto said he is eyeing the full use of the IBP building, built during the time of former governor and congressman Emilio Macias II, and requested the city and provincial governments for the completion of the third floor of the building, so that the chapter can fully use it.

Another project being eyed by the IBP is the conduct of a legal clinic or seminar among police personnel to enhance their skills in the preparation of charges to avoid dismissals due to technicalities. (FREEMAN)
