The Catholic Church's Luzon ecclesiastical provinces

Yesterday, we discussed the ecclesiastical provinces in Visayas and Mindanao. Today we shall tackle Luzon.

The Archdiocese of Manila is headed by Cardinal Jose Advincula covering the cities of Manila, San Juan, Mandaluyong, Makati, Pasay and the Antipolo Diocese led by Bishop Francisco de Leon, covering Rizal and Marikina City, also the Cubao Diocese led by Bishop Honesto Ongtioco, covering the southern part of Quezon City. Also parts of Manila are the Imus Diocese led by Bishop Reynaldo Evangelista which covers Cavite, and the Caloocan Diocese led by Bishop Pablo David, as well as the Malolos Diocese, led by Bishop Dennis Villarojo covering Bulacan. Also parts of Manila are the Novaliches Diocese led by Bishop Roberto Gaa which covers north Quezon City and north Caloocan, and the Parañaque Diocese covering Parañaque, Las Piñas, and Muntinlupa. The Pasig Diocese led by Bishop Mylo Vergara comprises Pasig, Taguig, and Pateros. The San Pablo Diocese, led by Bishop Buenaventura Famadico, covers Laguna.

The Lipa Archdiocese headed by Archbishop Gilbert Garcera covers Batangas and the Diocese of Boac covering Marinduque and led by Bishop Marcelino Maralit Jr., as well as the Gumaca Diocese covering the eastern part of Quezon and led by Bishop Victor Ocampo. The Lucena Diocese covers central Quezon led by Bishop Mel Uy is also part of the Lipa Archdiocese. The same is true with the Prelature of Infanta headed by Bishop Bernardino Cortes and covers the province of Aurora and northeastern parts of Quezon. The Lingayen-Dagupan Archdiocese, headed by Archbishop Socrates Villegas covers Central Pangasinan. It also comprises the Alaminos Diocese led by Bishop Fidelis Layog covering Western Pangasinan, as well as the Cabanatuan Diocese led by Bishop Sofronio Bancud covering most of Nueva Ecija.

Also covered by Lingayen-Dagupan is the San Fernando Diocese led by Bishop Daniel Presto, the San Jose Diocese covering northern Nueva Ecija led by Bishop Roberto Mailan, as well as the Urdaneta Diocese covering Eastern Pangasinan and led by Bishop Jacinto Jose. The Caseres Archdiocese based in the Minor Basilica of Our Lady of Peñafrancia in Naga City, Camarines Sur, is headed by Bishop Rolando Tirona. Caceres covers half of Camarines Sur including the cities of Naga and Iriga. Under it is the Daet Diocese covering the entire Camarines Norte and headed by Bishop Rex Alarcon. Also under Caseres is the Legaspi Diocese headed by Bishop Joel Baylon covering the whole of Albay. Also part of Caseres is the Libmanan Diocese, covering the rest of Camarines Sur and headed by Bishop Jose Rojas Jr. Also the Masbate Diocese headed by Bishop Jose Bantolo and the Sorsogon Diocese led by Bishop Jose Dialogo and the Virac Diocese covering Catanduanes under Bishop Manolo delos Santos.

The Nueva Segovia Archdiocese based in Vigan is headed by Archbishop Marlo Peralta covering Ilocos Sur. It also comprises the Baguio Diocese led by Bishop Victor Bendico covering Benguet and also covers the Diocese of Bangued covering Abra and led by Bishop Leopoldo Jaucian as well as the Laoag Diocese covering Ilocos Norte headed by Bishop Renato Mayugba. The San Fernando Archdiocese headed by Archbishop Florentino Lavarias covers Pampanga. It also comprises the Balanga Diocese led by Bishop Ruperto Santos and covers Bataan, the Iba Diocese led by Bishop Bartolome Santos and covers Zambales, the Tarlac Diocese, led by Bishop Enrique Macaraeg and covers Tarlac. The Tuguegarao Archdiocese led by Archbishop Ricardo Baccay covers Cagayan. It also comprises the Bayombong Diocese covering both Nueva Vizcaya and Quirino and led by Bishop Jose Mangalino. Also a part is the Ilagan Diocese covering Isabela and the Batanes Prelature led by Bishop Danilo Ulep.

There are some Apostolic Vicariates, including Tabuk, Apayao led by Bishop Prudencio Andaya Jr., that of Bonto-Lagawe covering the Mountain Province and Ifugao led by led by Bishop Valentin Dimoc and Calapan led by Fr. Nestor Adalia as well as San Jose, Mindoro, led by Bishop David Antonio, and Taytay led by Most Reverend Broderick Pabillo, covering northern Palawan and Puerto Princesa led by Most reverend Socrates Mesiona, and Jolo covering Sulu and Tawi-Tawi led by Bishop Charlie Imzon. The military Ordinariate is led by Bishop Oscar Florencio. These are the pillars of the Catholic Church working to unite the Roman Catholic and Apostolic Church founded by the Lord Jesus Christ himself.
