Oratio Imperata for the West Philippine Sea

WHAT MATTERS MOST - Atty. Josephus B. Jimenez - The Freeman

Almighty, all powerful, and all loving God and Father, creator of the universe and of mankind and king of all kings, most merciful and most compassionate, we worship and glorify your name above all names. We lift our gaze up to you and plead that you grant mercy and compassion, protection and defense of the promised land you have bestowed on us your people in the far east.

We call you by all your holy names, God the most omnipotent, omnipresent, and omniscient, Yahweh, El Shaddai, El Elyon Adonai, Abba, Allah, Jehovah Nissi, Jehovah Rophe, Jehovah Raah, Jehovah Rapha, Jehovah Trishbot, Jehovah Shammah, Jehovah Tsidkenu, Jehovah Makadesh, Jehovah Mekoddishkem, El Olam, Elohim, Jehovah Qanna, Jehovah Jireh, Jehovah Shalom, Jehovah Sabaoth, and our almighty and compassionate God, we come to you on bended knees, as a flock being eased out from the land that you have promised to your people, the people that you have rescued from slavery and have given a promised land. Protect our West Philippine Seas and all our domains and territories, our exclusive economic zones, our archipelago, our islands, islets, reefs, our shoals, and all our marine resources.

We invoke your power and your might to command and drive away all invaders and predators, all exploiters and colonizers who dare to encroach into the place you have reserved for us and for our children. We pray that our leaders and our brothers and sisters shall be blessed with enough vision and passion, adequate courage and determination to stand in defense of our land and to remain steadfast and unrelenting in our patriotism and our nationalism. This is the land that you blessed with the boundaries of nature, the land of the glorious morning sun and the land of the golden sunset, the cradle of noble heroes, the land of our birth, and the source of our sustenance and happiness. We implore your divine will to keep this land intact and secure for our children for our posterity, under the blessings of your eternal protection and for our security from external aggression and internal infidelity and subversion.

We pray to you, Almighty Father, to awaken in the hearts of our leaders a renewed strength and resolve to stand and defend every inch of this land that you have gifted us with. We invoke your divine wisdom to give our leaders enough discernment to use any and all means legal, moral and ethical, and in accordance with your will, to bring this conflict to all the duly constituted tribunals and fight for what is right, what is just, and what is truly reasonable and appropriate. We cannot afford to squander the victory granted by the international arbitrators who are duly constituted and allowed to govern and to decide by the tolerance of your will. We need to stand up even as we don't have the arms, the destructive power that our enemies possess. But like King David that you empowered in the face of the giant Goliath, we entrust on you the victory of the right over the mighty. For such is in accordance with the law that you have bestowed to Moses and handed down to us.

We thus hope and pray that you protect our land, you who are our only God, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, the God of the twelve tribes of Israel, the God of Isaiah, Zechariah and Jeremiah, the God of King David and Solomon. The God above all and the one true and living God, incarnated in the Son, in the unity with the Holy Spirit, all glory and honor are yours, forever and ever. Amen.
