Tagbilaran, Bohol was a subport of entry of the Port of Cebu

President Carlos Polistico Garcia of Talibon, Bohol, who married Leonila Dimataga of Opon (now Lapu-Lapu City, Cebu) initiated the upgrading of Bohol. Among these projects is its port.

This was because Tagbiliran, Bohols was originally a municipal port upon orders of then President Manuel Luis Quezon in 1937. CEBUpedia is reproducing the orders:

OPENING THE PORT OF TAGBILARAN, BOHOL, AS A SUBPORT OF ENTRY WITHIN THE COLLECTION DISTRICT OF THE PORT OF CEBU

Pursuant to the provisions of section 702 of Republic Act No. 1937, and upon the recommendation of the Secretary of Finance, the Port of Tagbilaran, Bohol, is hereby created, opened, and established as a subport of entry within the collection district of the Port of Cebu.

Done in the City of Manila, this 6th day of July, in the year of Our Lord, nineteen hundred and sixty-one, and of the Independence of the Philippines, the sixteenth.

ESTABLISHING A CLASSIFICATION OF PORTS

II. PORTS OPEN TO COASTWISE TRADE ONLY:: Tagbilaran, Bohol

This Order shall take effect on January first, nineteen hundred and thirty-seven.

Done at the City of Manila, this third day of December, in the year of Our Lord, nineteen hundred and thirty-six, and of the Commonwealth of the Philippines, the second.
