Everything happens for a reason
READER’S VIEWS (The Freeman) - July 24, 2020 - 12:00am

The plague or the COVID-19 pandemic that besets the whole world today has caused insurmountable problems that resulted in a global economic recession. Because of lockdowns effected in almost every country in the planet business closed and the livelihood of everyone is jeopardized.

Why this is happening is a question that elicits different answers. Some say that it is because of man's neglect to clean his environment. Others say that it's because people eat cats specifically civet cats which are the source of the virus. But I believe otherwise.

The scripture says that the wages of sin is death. So many people today don't believe in God. Or if they do, they don't do what is commanded by the Almighty that they must do. In other words mankind has transgressed the law that God wants us to observe.

In well-developed and rich countries in the west, churches are almost empty during Sunday mass celebrations. Perhaps because they well-of and affluent they don't need God anymore. Proportionally we can say that the more a person becomes affluent the more he distances himself from his creator.

God so love the world that he gave his only begotten Son so that those who believe in him will be saved and gain eternal life, so says the scripture. And because he loves mankind, He caused the pandemic in order to awaken mankind from the stupor of Godlessness and realized that after all what matters is belief in him and to do his will.

Everything therefore happens for a reason.
