Pregnant mothers’ predicament

THE EAR - The Freeman

As a protocol, private hospitals require expectant mothers on their final weeks of gestation to undergo a coronavirus test. According to one pregnant mother, her hospital charged her more or less P10,000 for the package of rapid test and PCR test for the virus.

However, the results of the test is only good for two weeks only, she said. Since she had not been on active labor within those two weeks, she was asked to undergo the same test again. For another P10,000.
