In an office, people were talking about the pageant, and someone brought up her unusual name. For Cebu’s old timers, Gazini meant Gazini Plaza, a department store that used to be at corner Colon and Junquera streets.

“Hala, katong kaabot pa sa Gazini Plaza, mga tiguwang na g’yud mo,” one of them said.
