An inside job
An EAR informer has revealed an ongoing racket within a branch of a quite-popular home furnishing company.
He said two of its employees collude to offer discounted prices to willing customers but then charge the sale to a regular customer eligible for the discount.
The result? A customer gets a lower price, does not get a sales invoice under his name, which means he will not be eligible to warranty.
On the other hand, God knows what happens to the discount – “perhaps pocketed by the employees”?
The informer said that one employee asked a customer to hand him the payment at a spot in the shop where there was no CCTV camera.
