The essence is gone

LIKE ANY WEEK. An old-timer commented that during her time Holy Week meant staying home aside from going to Church, with the town literally looking like a ghost town. Nowadays, she said Holy Week is almost like any other week, with people going out, businesses staying open, and children playing outside.
She added Holy Week is now more a time for merrymaking than worship.
“Lahi ra g’yud to sa una,” she told The EAR.
