Unscrupulous 'water provider'

TAKING ADVANTAGE. While water rates in Metro Cebu are lower compared to other places, a tenant who rents an apartment in an upland Cebu City barangay is complaining because his landlord charges P50 per cubic meter of water used.

What's worse? The landlord said it wasn't safe to drink.

The tenant told The EAR the landlord claimed the location prevents water utilities from being able to service the area. However, the tenant suspects the landlord deliberately blocks utilities from installing pipes so he can make money.
