Why criminals cover their faces

THE EAR - The Freeman

Cover. "I don't know if there's a law allowing or even requiring criminal suspects to cover their faces with towels when in front of TV cameras," one observer told an EAR informer. "Some even wrap themselves with blankets. Okay ra man na kay malooy man ta nga mabulgar ilang identity bisan suspect pa sila pero, what do you think?"

Forewarning. In fact, the observer said it would perhaps be better if they're barred from covering their faces "aron ma-forewarn ang publiko." In the States, for example, where he was assigned for some years, criminal suspects do not cover their faces when in front of the news cameras.
