Batch 2004, 2018 and 2015 maintain perfect starts

CEBU, Philippines — The ‘04 The Win Batch 2004 stretched its unbeaten streak to five games while the Xchange Forex Batch 2018 and Imperial House of Furniture Batch 2015 remained unscathed in three starts in the Sacred Heart Ateneo Alumni Basketball Athletic Association (SHAABAA) Season 28 on Sunday, June 8, at the Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu (SHS-AdC) Magis Eagles Arena in Barangay Canduman, Mandaue City.

Ricardo Pepito bagged 21 points, two assists and one rebounds, while Franco Augusto Te produced another explosive double-double performance with 20 points and 21 rebounds on top of two assists, four steals and two blocks as Batch 2004 downed ZLREJ Trading and Construction Batch 2010, 69–60, to firm up its grip of the Division B lead with a perfect 5-0 record.

Jasper Diaz sizzled with with 23 points and 13 boards but to no avail as Batch 2010 dropped to 3-2.

On the other hand, Chase Cokaliong scattered 18 points, two rebounds and two assists while Jan Galo added 15 points, four rebounds and three steals as Subtero Batch 2006 blasted the Golden Dragons Batch 2012, 81-45, to take the solo second spot with a 4-1 slate.

In other Division B games, Vann Alicias tossed in a 26-point, 15-rebound double-double with three assists to power the Onses Batch 2011 to a 74-67 beating of the Magis Medical Fund, Mavii Suarez and Jet Wahing connived for 29 points, 15 rebounds and three assists as the Harley Davidson Batch 2012 edged past 2K Core Pacific, 55–48, while Elddie Cabahug fired 25 points to lead Insular Square Batch 2005 to a 93-69 rout of 2kcares.org.

In Division C, Christian Manaytay banged in 20 points, 11 rebounds and five assists while Patrick Yu, Andrew Velasco, and Eroll Pastor combined for 33 points, 18 rebounds and five assists to power Batch 2018 to a 75–69 win over the Nest Workspaces Batch 2013.

Anton Araw-araw, Lorenzo Otero and Irvin Dwight Dumol tallied an identical 18 markers as Batch 2015 clobbered Kilat’i Refreshments Batch 2024, 75-52.

Not to be outdone, Josiah Villamayor cashed in 21 points and 11 rebounds while Sean Uribe chipped in with 19 points and nine rebounds as FADI Batch 2021 upended Rufrance LPG and Check Technologies, Inc. Batch 2025, 78–72, for its second win in three matches. — (FREEMAN)
