CEBU, Philippines — Renren Hisoler and Jundie Bontuyan came out as the biggest winners of the highly successsul 26th Ornopia Cup motocross race last Sunday, April 13, at the MS Motosuit Motorsports Park in Barangay Calambua, San Remigio north of Cebu.

Hisoler reigned supreme in the expert open category, with Bontuyan and Cyril Tariman settling for second and third, respectively.

Not to be outdone, Bontuyan was hailed as double champion in the open enduro and 125cc enduro.

Like Bontuyan, Warren Lauron also snatched a pair of titles.

Lauron dominated the 250cc 18 Under division that saw Pawpaw Velasquez and Keizer Ornopia winding up second and third. He also ruled the novice open after prevailing over Velasquez and Revin Pepito.

Velasquez managed to take home a champion’s trophy when he edged Titong Gabunas and Julius Nadera in the 85cc open.

On the other hand, Shanyl Querol clinched the ladies open title after outsmarting Jeanette Olanda and RK Cuesta, who took the second and third spots.

In the elite 35 above, Alejar Landero outclassed Brian Bontuyan and Alles Gabunada to secure the crown.

Ricafort Ozzy lorded it over the 65cc open after defeating Lizel Reyes and Jacey Olanda, who still has something to be happy about after placing first in the 50cc open followed by Zhakey Nadera and Zeth Quijada.

Tomtom Largoza stole part of the show after topping the beginners open, in the same way with Rizen Querol for grabbing the first-place honors in the ladies 14 Under.

The other top winners of the one-day race organized by MS Motosuit big boss Lou Ornopia as part of Calambua’s annual fiesta celebration in honor of their beloved patron San Vicente Ferrer were Aston Jagdon (local norte), JC Limutan (underbone), Ayen Ledesma (executive 40-44 and 45-49), Siegfred Ornopia (executive 50 above), and Ryan Ouano (wild thing). — (FREEMAN)
