CEC tracksters reap medals in FCAAF National Games

CEBU, Philippines — The young but promising tracksters of Cebu Eastern College (CEC) under the guidance of coach Maria Dolores “Sagay” Sagarino-Opoc made another successful campaign in the Filipino Chinese Amateur Athletic Federation (FCAAF) National Games 2025 in Pasig City recently.
Julienne Eve Yap shined the brightest among the Easternian medalists in track and field with four golds and three silvers that earned her the Most Outstanding Athlete award in the Girls 10 Under division.
Yap delivered a golden performance in both the 4x50m and 4x100m relay together with her sister Joeie Eireen Yap, Claire Dabon, and Julianne Claro. They also bagged a silver in the 4x200m relay.
Julienne minted two more gilts in softball throw and high jump plus a pair of silvers in long jump and 4x100m mixed relay alongside Joeie Yap, James Washington Ong, and Jhon Christian Paraguso.
James Ong and Paraguso hauled three other silvers via the 4x50m, 4x100m and 4x200m relay together with Hans Niño Ibenfred Ong and Shaun Andrei Animo. That made them the overall champion in the Boys 10 Under category.
Paraguso claimed a fifth silver after grabbing the first runner-up honors in 200m run while snatching bronze in the century dash.
Aside from their golden showing in relay events, Julianne Claro and Claire Dabon also took bronze in long jump and high jump, respectively, as well as Joeie Yap in the 100m race.
Rhisiart Theon Jayme contributed bronze in Male C 100m run while the CEC Baby Dragons settled for silver in basketball 18 Under. — (FREEMAN)
