All set for DagSik Duathlon on Sunday
CEBU, Philippines — Around 300 athletes will test their skills in endurance racing via the DagSik Duathlon slated on Sunday, February 16, at the Citi de Mare SRP grounds.
Jenny Madura, who helps Megawear PH in organizing the race together with Jonathan Inting, said the entries are coming from Bantayan Island, Cebu, Mandaue and Toledo City with out-of-towners from Negros, Leyte, Bohol, Dipolog and Surigao.
“We just want to relive and revive the duathlon event in the city,” said Madura. “We have limited participants for now to manage everyone’s expectations at the same time bring the best experience to everyone hopefully.”
“If this will prosper, we will share this with select aspiring athletes, help them to achieve their goals in sports and in life/studies. This is really the objective in the future,” Madura added.
The two-in-one race features the elite, relay, age-group and MTB Open categories.
The elites will have to deal with a 10K run, 40K bike, and 5K run.
The rest will tackle a shorter course consisting of a 5K run, 20K bike, and 3K run.
