CEBU, Philippines — ARQ Stable prospect Rodex “The Tank” Piala knows that a difficult task looms ahead of him fighting for a title for the first time in his career behind enemy lines in his first tour of duty abroad.

But Piala vows to do whatever it takes to win as battles against Japanese Kenji Fujita in an exciting showdown of unbeatens for the World Boxing Organization (WBO) Asia Pacific featherweight crown in a fight card bankrolled by Teiken Promotions on Saturday, June 1, at the historic Korakuen Hall in Tokyo, Japan.

“Kining boxing akoang kinabuhi.

Piala holds a perfect 10-0 record spiked with only one knockout, while Fujita is also unscathed in six bouts with 3KOs.

Not pressured at all, the 29-year-old Piala looks forward to show his stuff in his maiden ring assignment on foreign shores with much enthusiasm.

Piala gamely admitted that it’s going to be a tough challenge for him but he will fight to the death in the hope of bringing home the coveted belt.

— (FREEMAN)
