San Roque-Carmen rules BPBL Cebu North A leg
CEBU, Philippines — Team San Roque of Carmen edged Danao City by the narrowest margins, 76-75, in their nerve-racking final match to claim the championship of the Batang Pilipino Basketball League (BPBL) Cebu North A leg recently at the D.M. Reynes Sports Complex in Compostela, Cebu.
Marlo Tulag showed his worth as the league’s Most Valuable Player after topping San Roque with 17 points.
Mythical Five member Dimuel Mendoza and Robert Morales chipped in 13 markers apiece for San Roque, which advanced to the Regional Finals slated on September 9-10 at the Sisters of Mary School (SMS)-Girlstown Campus in Barangay Poblacion, Talisay City.
Keith Montes cashed in 19 points in a losing effort for Danao.
In the battle for third place, John Uriel Montero dropped 20 points to power Cotcot Jhea’s Sports Apparel to a 102-78 rout of the Compostela Arch Angels.
