Gilas starts campaign in FIBA Asia qualifiers tonight

CEBU, Philippines —  The youthful Gilas Pilipinas squad will kick off their campaign in the third and last window of the FIBA Asia Cup qualifiers tonight in Clark, Pampanga.

Bannered by NBA hopeful Kai Sotto, naturalized player Angelo Kouame, Dwight Ramos, and PBA draftee Isaac Go, Gilas of coach Tab Baldwin will go up against South Korea at 6 p.m.

The Nationals will then take on Indonesia on Friday, June 18, before clashing anew with the Koreans at 3 p.m. on Sunday, June 20.

The Pinoy cagers currently leads Group A with a perfect 3-0 record.

They only need to win one of their three matches to earn a ticket to the FIBA Asia Cup slated this August in Jakarta, Indonesia. — EBV
