All set for Toledo City’s cash-rich 1st Hinulawan Festival chessfest

CEBU, Philippines —  Close to P100,000 in cash prize is at stake for the winners of Toledo City’s 1st Hinulawan Festival 3 on 3 and Kiddies Chess Tournament that will be played over the board under strict health and safety protocols on June 5-6.

In the 3 on 3 or Tatluhan category, each team shall have an average rating of 2050 in the most latest FIDE ratings, while the kiddies division is open to players 12 years old and below.

They will play in a 9-round Swiss system competition under FIDE laws of rapid play.

The 3 on 3 champion will pocket P20,000 while the second to fifth placers will receive P15,000, P10,000, 7,000 and P5,000, respectively. The sixth to 10th will get P2,000 each.

A P4,000 incentive will be given away to the top lady and Under 18 teams while the top three board medalists will get a P1,500 bonus.

On the other hand, the kiddies champion will take home P5,000 while the second to fifth will grab P3,000, P2,000 and P1,000 and P500. The sixth to 10th will have a consolation of P300 apiece. The top lady performer will take an additional P2,000.

Registration is free for the two-day tilt fully supported by Toledo LGU header by mayor Joie Perales

but slot are limited on a first-come, first-served basis in adherence to the Regional Inter-Agency Task Force regulations.
