CEBU, Philippines —  Sanman Boxing will stage its first bubble series of the year to be headlined by the comebacking welterweight contender Rimar “Terminator” Metuda on March 17 at the Sanman Gym in General Santos City.

Metuda (14-6-1, 8KOs) will come out of a 15-month hiatus to slug it out with the grizzled veteran Eden Sonsona (36-12-2, 13KOs) in a six rounder match at 140 lbs.

Former WBC Asian Boxing Council Continental featherweight champion John Vincent “Mulawin” Moralde (23-4, 13KOs) and ex-WBO Asia Pacific super flyweight titlist Froilan “Sniper” Saludar (31-4-1, 22KOs) are also featured in the nine-bout show.

Moralde, who fought once at the height of the pandemic but lost by a disappointing first-round knockout to Jose Enrique Durantes Vivas on October 17, 2020 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, will go up against Kim Lindog in a six-round lightweight duel.

Saludar, who lost his WBO regional belt to Japan’s Ryoji Fukunaga the last time he fought on February 14 last year at Tokyo’s historic Korakuen Hall, hopes to refresh his career as he battles Mark Rey Taday in an eight-round bantamweight clash.

Sanman CEO Jim Claude “JC” Manangquil is once again inviting all fight fans to watch the livestream of the event via Sanman’s Facebook page.

“Sanman only brings you pure boxing action and nothing else. We have consistently done it in the past and will continue to deliver. Your support is what keeps us going. See you on March 17,” Manangquil stated. — EBV
