CEBU, Philippines — Conor McGregor’s head trainer John Kavanagh has revealed that the MMA megastar is close to agreeing terms for a ring showdown with Filipino sports hero Manny Pacquiao.

If the fight is going to happen in the future, Hall of Fame trainer Freddie Roach said McGregor don’t have  a Chinaman’s chance against boxing’s only eight-division world champion.

Not only that, Roach sees Pacquiao to easily dismantle McGregor once they slug it out in the fight arena.

“If this is true, Manny Pacquiao will have an easier time with Conor Mcgregor than when he fought Ricky Hatton,” Roach told

Roach was referring to Pacquiao’s frightening two-round demolition of Hatton that sent the British champion to retirement back in 2009.

Talks of a Pacquiao-McGregor encounter broke out after McGregor tweeted on Friday that he will go up against the fighting Philippine senator in the Middle East early next year.

Pacquiao, through his special assistant Jake Joson, has confirmed that he wants to fight the Irish mixed martial arts icon for the sake of all the Filipino Covid-19 victims. He would donate a portion of his prize money to his fellow countrymen who were greatly affected by vthe global health crisis.

MP Promotions President Sean Gibbons himself admitted that the McGregor fight is being considered but it’s still a long way to go.
