Cops with COVID breach 800

MANILA, Philippines  — The number of police officers infected with the coronavirus disease 2019 or COVID-19 is now 801.

The Philippine National Police said 47 more PNP personnel tested positive for the virus based on results released yesterday.

Twenty-four of the latest cases are from Metro Manila, five of them from Camp Crame and 13 from Central Visayas.

Eight are with the Aviation Security Group and two with the Calabarzon police.

PNP data shows that 386 or 48.18 percent of the infected personnel have recovered. The death toll remains at nine.

At least 1,241 other police personnel who manifested symptoms or had interacted with COVID-19 patients are being monitored.
