Cebuano netters breach top 10 in UTP rankings

CEBU, Philippines —  A bunch of Cebuano netters are performing well in the first quarter of 2020 with some of them making it to the top 10 in the national rankings under the Unified Tennis Philippines (UTP).

Johnny Arcilla, a living legend in Philippine tennis, is still on top despite slowing down in tournaments.

Arcilla got the No.1 spot in the men’s division with 3,000 points followed by Jeson Patrombon with 2,900 points.

Two other Cebuanos in Arthur Craig Pantino and Norman Joseph Enriquez are ranked No.21 and 24, respectively, with 150 points each.

In the women’s division, Elizabeth Abarquez is at 19th spot with 180 points.

Several other young Cebuano tennisters also showed promise in their respective age groups.

David Ezra Sepulveda is currently rated No. 2 in the 10-under division with 1,480 points. He is also at 11th spot in the boys 12 with 605 points.

Aaron Kevin Tabura is at No.8 in the boys 12 with 750 points, while Mitch Largo (850 pts.) is at No.4 and Gio John Manito (595 pts.) at No.10 in the boys 14.

Venz Anton Louise Alforque is at No.10 in the boys 18 class with 700 points while Tifanny Nocos is at No.6 in the girls 16 category with 785 points.
