CESAFI futsal gets underway

CEBU, Philippines — The Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation Incorporated (CESAFI) futsal event kicks off at the University of San Carlos gym today.

The tournament is composed of secondary and tertiary level.

The organizers decided to split the event into two division because of the increasing number of participants that will join especially in the girls side.

Battling in the tertiary division are host team USC, University of San Jose-Recoletos and Southwestern University.

Meanwhile, six teams vie for supremacy in the high school class namely USC, USJ-R, SWU, University of Southern Philippines Foundation, Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu and Sisters of Mary School-Girlstown.

The tournament will be a league-type event with the secondary division to play a single-round robin battle and double-round for the collegiate squad with the top teams in both levels based on points to be declared the champion.
