(The Freeman) - January 17, 2020 - 12:00am

CEBU, Philippines — The Concentrix Converters completed their mastery over the twice-to-beat Teleperformance Vipers with a 72-63 victory in the rubbermatch of their quarterfinal playoff to barge into the last round of four in the Elite Classic of the Tanduay Athletics CSCC E-Leagues for Basketball Season 15 last Wednesday at the City Sports Club-Cebu gym.

Mark Joel Bacho dropped 20 points on top of 10 rebounds, two steals, one assist and one block as the Converters arranged a best-of-three semifinal showdown with the Accenture Sharks starting this Saturday, January 18.

The winner of the Concentrix-Teleperformance duel will earn the right to challenge defending champion Sykes Pioneers in the finals, which is also a race-to-2 series.

Ildefonso Bulangis chipped in 13 points and two rebounds while Admir Gerard Batiancila scored only eight but still made a significant contribution with five rebounds, five assists and three steals for the Converters, who dictated the tempo of the match since getting off to a flying 22-12 start.

The Converters upped their lead to a baker’s dozen after three quarters, 52-39, then quelled every comeback attempt by the  Vipers at the endgame to safely cruise to a nine-point triumph.

Mon Xavier Dico scattered 20 points, eight boards, four steals, two assists and two blocks but his all-around effort went for naught as the Vipers kissed their championship dreams goodbye. EBV
