SK Consolacion, St. Francis join winners’ circle in Amicis hoopla

CEBU, Philippines — The SK Consolacion and St. Francis became the latest teams to join the winners’ circle in the 29 Under category of the 1st Amicis Basketball League (ABL) at the Consolacion Sports Complex.

Behind the double-double show of Paolo Dalumpines and Jon Abinales, SK Consolacion easily dismantled Team SKBC, 104-82. Dalumpines finished with 225 points, 12 assists and six rebounds, while Abinales banged in 23 points and 14 rebounds.

Jessie Bathan chipped in 16 markers and seven assists, while SK Federation President Carlos Donn Flores dished out 14 points and eight rebounds for SK Consolacion, which used a fierce second-half assault to wipe out SKBC.

Leading by just nine at the bend, 47-38, SK Consolacion outclassed SKBC in the final two quarters, 57-44, to come up with a 22-point blowout.

Butch Tejero was the other double-digit scorer for SK Consolacion with 11 points.

Charles Alano scattered 29 points, eight rebounds and six assists, Jomarin Digol churned out 17 points and seven assists while Kier Semilla and Ivan Wenceslao connived for 22 markers in a losing effort for SKBC.

On the other hand, Rusty Aguilar led four players in double figures with 16 points, nine rebounds and six assists as St. Francis edged past Cruz Amigos, 84-73.

Dave Gervise added 13 points and six assists, while Christian Avila scored 12 for St. Francis of team owner and coach Ryan Perez, which lost an early 30-14 lead but relied on a strong endgame push to carve out  an 11-point triumph.

Engelbert Alinsug unloaded 26 points, nine rebounds and eight assists, while Maghinay dropped 14 points, eight rebounds and six assists but their efforts proved futile for Cruz Amigos. EBV
