Raptors, Hawks score first wins in Elite caging

CEBU, Philippines —The Raptors and the Hawks readily bounced back from their previous setbacks to barge into the win column in the Elite Basketball  Cebu-Cebu City Season 16 at the Visayan Glass gym in Barangay Guadalupe, Cebu City.

Sam Hermosa scattered 18 points, nine rebounds, seven assists and three blocks to propel the Raptors to an 84-76 taming of the Tigers.

Nestor Bardillas added 14 points, while Kevin Lozano, Jaypher Ocañada and Jose Acha connived for 33 points for the Raptors, who outpointed the Tigers in the middle quarters, 39-31, to come out victorious.

Chris Obeso finished with 15 points, Marsun Tabay scored 12 and Jojie Bas tallied 11 markers but their efforts proved futile as the Tigers absorbed their second loss in as many starts.

On the other hand, Ranjie Mangyao cashed in 11 points spiked with four assists, two rebounds and one steal to lift the Hawks to a thrilling 48-46 win over the Sharks.

Jojo Lañojan was the other double-digit scorer for the Hawks with 10 points.

Shan Tann, Jude Bulan and Prince Malana combined for 38 points but to no avail as the Sharks fell to 0-2.EBV
