Rider Omega Pro dominates NAGT

CEBU, Philippines — Cebu City-Rider Omega Pro reigned supreme in the National Age-Group Triathlon (NAGT) with Karen Manayon and Jonathan Pagaura leading the charge at the City of Naga’s boardwalk yesterday.

Pagaura and Manayon came out the fastest in their respective classes. Interestingly, this is their first victory in the standard distance in the NAGT.

Pagaura registered the fastest time of two hours, 14 minutes and 27 seconds.

It was actually a sweep for Rider Omega Pro in the men’s overall standing with teammate Jorry Ycong landing second in 2:16:16 plus the fastest swim award, while Banjo Norte came out third with 2:16:35 clocking.

Manayon, for her part, got the fastest swim split that powered her in claiming the women’s overall crown in 2:52:17.

Another Rider Omega Pro bet, Cianyl Jamae Gonzales trailed Manayon in 2:52:59 as arie Flor Justiniane landed third in 3:14:36.

Jean Christophe Covacho also delivered for Omega after ruling the 45-49 division in 2:42:42.

Go4Less won the relay event and age-groups classes in the standard distance including Juanito Mahinay Jr. in the 25-29 with 2:22:21 clocking as Ralph Arche leads a sweep in the 35-39 class with 2:31:46 and Mylene Jarina in the women’s 50-above class in 3:16:27.

The other age-group winners in the standard distance were Tri SND Barracuda’s Jailani Lamama (2:28:36) and Angelica Jasmine Rejas(3:17:42) in the 18-24 category, Power Arc’s Nicson Tongco (2:27:11) in the 30-34, Tri SOS’Sherlynne Anne Tagara(35-39), Organique’s Mark Mulder(2:44:02) in the 40-44 and Henry Chua of Tri Bibo in the 50-above with 3:16:27 clocking.

Rider Omega Tri also got the women’s title in the super sprint through the efforts of Marielle Estreba.

Cebu Landmaster’s Joshua Sebastian Cabusas topped the men’s super sprint in 45:05 as Paseo De Loon’s John Paul Cabalit trails in 45:25  and Lucas Christof Ouano in 1:02:32. (FREEMAN)
