CEBU, Philippines —  Isaiah Blanco scored 11 of his 15 points in the second half as the University of Cebu (UC) Baby Webmasters spanked the Don Bosco Greywolves, 63-50, to keep their unbeaten record intact in the 19th Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation, Inc. (CESAFI) men’s basketball tournament at the Cebu Coliseum yesterday.

Blanco, son of former PBA star now Cebu City Councilor Dondon Hontiveros, also pulled down 13 rebounds and passed out five assists. King Balaga added 12 points and six rebounds for the Baby Webmasters, who perched comfortably atop the juniors division standings with a perfect 7-0 record.

In command from the start, the Baby Webmasters never looked back after cruising to a 39-29 halftime lead.

The Greywolves could only trim the deficit down to a single digit only once, 44-53, as the Baby Webmasters replied with a 6-0 blitz to post a huge 59-44 advantage underneath the final five minutes of play.

Vincent Escobido was the long double-digit scorer with 13 points for the Greywolves, who slipped to 4-4.

Earlier, Albert Sacayan tallied 15 points and Franzel Basalo chipped in 12 markers to power the University of the Visayas (UV) Baby Lancers to a 80-57 rout of the Southwestern University (SWU)-Phinma Baby Cobras.

The Baby Lancers clobbered the Baby Cobras from the get go, and the outcome of the match was already a foregone conclusion when UV sprinted to a 38-24 lead at the break.

The Baby Lancers did not let their guards down on the way to come up with a 23-point blowout that raised their record to 6-2. The Baby Cobras dropped to 2-5.
