CEBU, Philippines —  The first ever season of the South Dreamers Basketball League gets underway today with four games on tap at the Vista Grande gym in Brgy. Bulacao, Talisay City.

Before the hardcourt hostilities, a simple opening ceremony will take place starting off with the traditional parade of athletes at 7 am. The highlight of the program is the selection of best muse.

Exciting hoop action will then commence featuring San Roque versus RnT in the Under 16 age group.

It will be followed by the Under 18 games pitting Biasong against Rizbros and Toledo opposite the Minglanilla Archangels.

In the main match, the Monterey School Lions will go up against Rizbros in the U16 category.

The tournament follows a single round robin format, with the top two teams per bracket advancing to the crossover semifinals. The winners will then clash for the championship in a winner-take-all affair.

Guided by their motto “Chase Your Dreams”, the South Dreamers league is formed by coach Dennis Lee Pacquiao, Luzette Degala Pritscher and Genesis Franco to give the young aspiring cagers an avenue to further harness their skills and help them achieve their goals in life in the future. — EBV
