Cebu jins shine in Korea

CEBU, Philippines — Cebuano jin McAvyngyr Alob showcased his creativity and leadership as he led the national team to a golden finish in this year’s World Hanmadang Championships the other night in Jeju, South Korea.

The veteran Alob, the only Cebuano in the senior team, made an impressive performance as they dominate the aerobic international event.

Their victory is very personal to Alob as he helped in the choreography of their performance.

Earlier, several Cebuanos were also in Korea to train and compete in another taekwondo competition and won medals.

Rinna Babanto and Aidaine Laxa were together in the team that won gold in the poomsae team event as Nica Garces settled for a  silver medal in the in kyorugi at the 2019 Chuncheon, Korea Open International Taekwondo Tournament in Chuncheon, Korea.

Cebuana coach Maria Lorena Genovesa added another gold via the 2019 Gwang Ju Open International Taekwondo Championships. (FREEMAN)
